PINCKNEYVILLE – Linda Diane Riecan Weaver, 73, of Pinckneyville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the Pinckneyville Hospital.
Linda was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, on December 21, 1949, the daughter of Joseph (Sr.) and Betty (nee Lowery) Riecan. She married Kenneth (Bud) Weaver on June 3, 1989, at Paducah, Kentucky. Linda loved spending time with her family, enjoyed camping and riding her golf cart. She was of the Christian Faith.
Linda is survived by her husband, Kenneth (Bud) Weaver of Pinckneyville; her children, Charles (Deana) Newton II, Brian Newton all of Percy, Jimmy (Rhonda) Newton of Pinckneyville, and Jeremy (Kelsae) Newton of Steeleville; her grandchildren, Charles (Anna) Newton, III, Sara Newton all of Percy, Brittany (Tyler Nesbitt) Newton, Scott Newton, Dustin (Samantha) Newton all of Steeleville, Maddison Newton of Elkville, Austin (Kaitlin) Newton, Jamie (Caleb) Geary of Pinckneyville, and Gavin and Hailey Newton of Steeleville; her great grandchildren, Syron and Jaxon Newton of Percy, Ella Newton of Rockwood, Kinsley Newton of Pinckneyville, and another great grandson due in June. She is also survived by her siblings, Theresa (Jerry) Newton of Ava, Joseph (Kathy) Riecan, Jr. of Chester, John (Toni) Riecan of Carterville, Frances (Fred) Lawrence of Herrin, Melody (Robert) Stevenson of Pinckneyville. Linda is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly. She was a loving and caring foster parent throughout the years to many children.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and one niece, Tara Gourley.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Don Nuttall officiating. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, Tunnel Hill, Illinois, at 1:30 pm. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call on Tuesday from 5 pm until 8 pm, and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
