STEELEVILLE – Linda K. Thies, 69, of Steeleville, passed away at 9:00 am, Thursday, August 27, 2020, at Memorial Hospital in Chester.

Linda was born in Chester, Illinois, on October 16, 1950, the daughter of Gussie Henry and Dorothy M. Brueggemann Gerlach.  She married Gary Thies on July 19, 1969 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville.  He preceded her in death on November 27, 2002.  She was retired from Gilster Mary-Lee Cake Mix and the Steeleville Eagles.  Linda was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, and Steeleville Eagles Aeries #3960.

Linda is survived by one daughter, Dena Schlimme of Sparta; three granddaughters, Brittany, Emily and Hannah Schlimme; two great grandsons, Landon and Lawson Brothers; one brother, Glenn (Mary Lynn) Gerlach of Steeleville; and two nephews, Garrett (Rich) Gerlach and Andy (Ali) Gerlach.

Linda was also preceded in death by her Parents; and one niece, Melissa Sauerwein.

Graveside service will held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, with Rev. Kelly Bedard officiating.  Burial will follow.  By executive order, we are limited to 25 people in the building at any one time with face masks and social distancing being followed.  Memorials may be given to an Educational Fund for her great grandchildren.
