MURPHYSBORO – Linda Derosett, 77, of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away on June 28, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Olive Branch, Illinois.

Linda was born on September 27, 1948, in Murphysboro, IL, to Harold and Alice (Wortham) McRoy. She married Darrel W. Derosett on October 22, 1966, in Murphysboro, IL. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2024. Linda worked at Century Sports, Babysitting, and a Substitute Cook at Murphysboro School.

Linda is survived by her children: Tammy (Al) Cook of Olive Branch, IL, Brian (Christy) Derosett of Ava, IL; her grandchildren: Brad Green, Paige Green, Hobie Derosett, Luke Derosett; her great grandchildren: Dawson Bowen, Kadin Bowen and Emma Green; her siblings: Elmer McRoy of Murphysboro, IL and Karen (David) Pugh of Murphysboro, IL.

Linda was also preceded in death by her parents, and sister-in-law, Sandy McRoy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 10:00 am, at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Ava, IL, with Rev. Robert Spangler officiating. Burial to follow at Murdale Garden of Memory, Murphysboro, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday morning, July 1, 2026, where friends may call from 9:00 am, until time of service at the funeral home.
