Obituary

STEELEVILLE - Lillian G. Bollman, 93, of Chester, formerly of Steeleville, IL passed away at 1:17 PM Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Chester Rehab & Care Center in Chester, Illinois. She was born August 26, 1918 in rural Jackson County, Illinois near the Post Oak Community the daughter of Henry F. and Emma S. (Misselhorn) Gerberding. Lillian married Herbert J. Bollman on Saturday, May 15, 1943 at St. John's Lutheran Church at Post Oak. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Elda Eggers, Hilda Hartman and Norma Stegman, and three brothers, Fritz, Raymond and Herbert Gerberding. Lillian is survived by three children, Donald (Beverly) Bollman of Rockwood, IL, Leonard (Doris) Bollman of Clarksville, AR and Doris (Richard) Soles of Warne, NC; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Cane of Sparta, IL. Lillian was a member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Wine Hill (Randolph County), St. Peter's Ladies Aid and was active in many church functions over the years. In addition to helping her husband farm, Lillian worked at the Brown Shoe Factory, Prim Hosiery and Gilster Mary-Lee Corporation. She was an avid quilter and her quilts and embroidery were in high demand. Her loving kindness will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Wine Hill, Illinois with Debra Rathert, Lay Minister, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Wine Hill, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville where friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 to 11 at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
