PERCY – Letha "Lucille" Kempfer, 84, of Percy, passed away at 3:22 pm, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Memorial Hospital in Chester.
Letha was born in Grandin, Missouri, on February 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Nola McDowell Kitterman. She married James Cletus Kempfer on September 23, 1950 in Alton, IL. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1997. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Percy and she was a Homemaker.
Lucille is survived by her children, Roger Kempfer of Percy, Shirley Wydeck of Percy, Paul Kempfer of Percy, Loretta (Rick) Fuhrhop of Carthage, NC, Norma Brown of St. Mary's, OH, and Jackie (Mike) Chamness of Hurst, IL; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce Smelser of Grandon, MO and Eula Emmons of El Paso, TX.
Lucille was also preceded in death by her Parents and one brother.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Percy with Rev. Terry Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Percy Village Cemetery, Percy. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home in Percy on Friday from 10:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
