AVA – Leslie A. Grosvenor, 77, of Ava, passed away at 4:07 pm, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
Leslie was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on May 31, 1939, the son of Lester and Anna Falkenberry Grosvenor. He married Sarah Ann Talbott on January 19, 1959 at Marion, Illinois. Les was a retired Welder from Caterpillar after 31 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ava; Alma Lodge #497 A.F. & A.M., Steeleville; Ava Senior Citizens; and the Aerospace and Machinist Union in Joliet, Illinois.
Leslie is survived by his wife, Sarah Ann Grosvenor of Ava; two sons, Ricky Grosvenor of Ava and Dennis Grosvenor of Coal City, IL; one granddaughter, Stephanie Bailey of Coal City, IL; two great grandsons, Colton Bailey and Grayson Bailey.
Leslie was preceded in death by his Parents; daughter-in-law, Lori Grosvenor; and two sisters, Geraldine Davis and Melba Hamilton.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Bill Stoklosa and Rev. James Easton officiating. Burial will follow in Glenn Cemetery, Rockwood, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm and on Sunday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church in Ava Building Fund, Glenn Cemetery or Crain Cemetery.
