MURPHYSBORO – Leonarda J. Draper, 98, of Murphysboro, IL, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Manor Court, Carbondale, IL.

Leonarda was born December 8, 1923, in East St. Louis, IL, to Leonard and Josephine (Husky) Johnson. She married Floyd L. Draper on August 12, 1943, in East St. Louis, IL. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1945. Leonarda was a retired Elementary School teacher. She was a member of Christ Community Church in Murphysboro, IL, and Delta Kappa Gamma – National Teacher Honorary Organization.

Leonarda is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Leonarda is also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one granddaughter, one son-in-law, three sisters and one brother.
