CAMPBELL HILL - Leonard Paul Huseman, 77, of Campbell Hill, IL passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
Leonard was born in Campbell Hill, IL on July 17, 1946, to Walter and Clara Liefer Huseman. He married Judy Gasperson in 1969. She preceded him in death. He married his "Snowflake," Joyce Gemmill on August 8th, 1987, and together they shared 36 years of marriage.
Leonard answered the call to serve his country in 1965 when he was drafted to the United States Army and served until 1967. He was a retired union electrician and proud member of IBEW Local 702. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, Post Oak. Leonard enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He loved his family and friends dearly and never missed an opportunity to help others.
Leonard is survived by his wife Joyce Huseman of Campbell Hill, IL; children Brian Huseman of Willisville, IL, Greg Huseman of Campbell Hill, IL, Bethany Huseman of Campbell Hill, IL, Clay (Lisa) Quillman of Ava, IL, and Carrie (Chris) Lincoln of Marion, IL; grandchildren Brianna (Blake) George, Katie Huseman, Abby Huseman, Tyler Huseman, Nicolas Huseman, Kayli (Zachary) Pierson, Kelci Quillman (Kyle Hammel), Camryn Lincoln, Colbie Lincoln; and one great grandchild, Quinn Pierson; sisters Norma Lou Oetjen of Paducah, KY, Arlena (Dean) Rull of Bunker Hill, IL, sister-in-law Mary Huseman of Campbell Hill, IL, brothers-in-law Darrel Ehlers of Campbell Hill, IL, and Michael (Patty) Gemmill of Perryville, MO, niece and Godchild, Amy (Josh) Brown, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lawrence Huseman, one sister, Carol Ehlers, and brother-in-law Gilbert Oetjen.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 9th, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, IL. Additional visitation will be held Friday, November 10th at St. John Lutheran Church, Post Oak from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 10, 2023 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Post Oak with Ministers Deb Rathert and Michael Foppe officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church, Post Oak or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
