PERCY – Leona R. Dreyer, 95, of Percy, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Tranquility Hospice Facility in Marietta, Georgia.

Leona was born in Percy on May 23, 1922, the daughter of Herman and Emma Gerberding Ruehmkorff.  She married Lawrence H. Dreyer on February 24, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Post Oak.  He preceded her in death on March 4, 1993.  Leona worked at Steeleville Shoe Factory from 1938 until 1946 then from 1947 until 1960.  She retired from Sparta Aluminum after working there from 1962 until 1987.  Leona was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Post Oak, Campbell Hill, Illinois and the BBK American Legion Post #480 Auxiliary, Steeleville.  Leona was a hard worker and caretaker.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling.

Leona is survived by one daughter, Frances (John) Mattila of Acworth, GA; four grandchildren, Jill Mattila (Alex) Jenkins, June Mattila (John) Tatro, Matthew (Meredith) Mattila, and Michael Mattila; and three great grandchildren, Audrey, Lloyd and John Risto.

Leona was also preceded in death by her Parents; one infant son; one sister; and one brother.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Post Oak, Campbell Hill, Illinois with Deb Rathert, Lay Minister officiating.  Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Post Oak.  Visitation will be at St. John's Lutheran Church, Post Oak, on Wednesday from 10 am until 11 am.  Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, Post Oak or Wellstar Community Hospice Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain.
