MURPHYSBORO, Leo Clinton Rath, 83, of Cocoa, FL, formerly of Murphysboro, IL passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010, at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, FL. He was born September 18, 1926 in Elkville, Illinois the son of Joseph Rath and Alta (Spencer) Rath. Leo married Jane Easton on December 4, 1953 in Murphysboro. Leo was a retired Electrical Engineer in Automation. Leo was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict and received 2 bronze stars. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Merritt Island, FL. Leo is survived by his wife Jane Rath of Cocoa, FL; one son, David (Cheryl) Rath of Titusville, FL; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Brauen of Justin, TX and Eric Rath of Port Saint John, FL; one great grandson, Tyler Brauen of Justin, TX; one brother, Howard Rath of Elkville, IL; and one sister, Verna Bastien of DuQuoin, IL. Leo was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava. Rev. James Easton will be officiating. Burial will follow at Glenn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Friday from 6 to 8 pm and on Saturday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to Glenn Cemetery.
