SPARTA – Lee H. Rainey, 92, of Sparta, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, IL.

Lee was born October 15, 1929, in Winkle, IL, to Freeman Lee and Edith Wiley. He married Billie A. Haier in Chester, IL, she preceded Lee in death on August 20, 1991. Lee was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict and a retired carpenter. He was a member of Carpenters Union, St. Louis, MO, and was of the Protestant faith.

Lee is survived by his nephew, Philip & Mickey Hewitt, and several generations of nieces and nephews.

Lee is also preceded in death by his parents, son, Patrick Rainey, sisters; Edna (Albert) Lake and Doris (Philip) Hewitt.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Rev. Zachary Furlong officiating. Burial to follow at Tilden Cemetery, Tilden. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 11 - 1 pm. Memorials may be given to a Love Fund for the family and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O.
