JACOB, Laverne E. Neuhaus, 93, of Jacob, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Manor Court in Carbondale, Illinois. She was born March 11, 1923 in Venedy, Illinois the daughter of Gustav and Della (Koch) Borrenpohl. Laverne married Clarence E. Neuhaus on April 28, 1946 in Venedy, Illinois. He passed away on March 24, 1997.

Laverne was a Homemaker. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Jacob, Illinois and the Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her children: Dinah (Jim) Pflasterer of Valmeyer, Illinois, Donna (Russ) Sass of Indianapolis, Indiana and Alan (Rhonda) Neuhaus of Gorham, Illinois; 6 Grandchildren: Jamie (Ian) Spielman, Gina (Brian) Fegler, David Sass, Kevin Sass, Kayci (Andrew) Smith and Ashley Neuhaus and 8 Great Grandchildren.

Laverne is preceded in death by her parents, husband 2 brothers, Edward Borrenpohl and Elroy Borrenpohl and 1 sister, Alice Borrenpohl.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob, Illinois with Rev. Mike Kettner officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, IL. Visitation will be at Christ Lutheran Church on Monday where friends may call from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
