PUXICO – Larry Wayne Sims, 81, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024.

Larry was born on May 9, 1943, in Kermit, TX, the son of Earl and Erlene (Munn) Sims. He
married Patrica Dameron on September 3, 1966, in Battle Creek, MI. They shared 58 years of
marriage. Larry was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam Conflict.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Willisville, IL and the Kaskaskia VFW Post
#3553, Chester, IL. Larry enjoyed gardening, deer hunting at Sato, and the Thursday New Hope
men's group.

Larry is survived by his wife Patricia Sims, his children: Melissa (Tom) Spiller, Amy (Todd)
Triplett; his grandchildren: Taylor (Bradley) Fondaw, Dalton (Amy) Spiller; his great
granddaughter, Lindsey  Fondaw, his brother Douglas Sims, brother-in-law Gary (Judi) Dameron, and sister-in-
law Patti Dameron.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Bill and Ruby Dameron, brother Jerry Sims,
brother-in-law Bill Dameron, and cousin Tom Nisbet.

Graveside services will be held at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, IL. Memorials can be made to
the Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Ava, IL 62907.
