AVA - Larry S. Rodgers, 68, of Ava, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at his home in Ava, IL. Larry was born in Cape Girardeau, MO on July 4, 1944, the son of Roy E. and Dorothy M. Wilson Rodgers. He married Betty L. Lindhorst on November 9, 1963 at Columbia, IL. Larry was a retired Ford Mechanic. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Murphysboro, IL and was affiliated with WXAN. Larry is survived by his wife, Betty L. Rodgers of Ava; two children, Gregg Rodgers of Ava and Christine House of Columbia, IL; five grandchildren, Jessica Kennedy, Jodie Olmstead, Jackie Gregoire, Jyll House and Alexis Rodgers; three great grandchildren, Jacob Inselmann, Jaydon Smith and Emma Kennedy. Larry was preceded in death by is Parents. Due to Mr. Rodger's request, cremation will take place and there will not be any services. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava.
