SPARTA – Larry M. Rheinecker, 75, of Sparta, passed away on July 20, 2020 at 3:20am in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehab Center after a long battle with Parkinson Disease.
Larry was born on October 11, 1944 in DuQuoin, Illinois the son of William and Mildred Loos Rheinecker. He married Judy Mathis on December 5, 1969 at Pinckneyville, Illinois. Larry was a retired Mail Carrier for the Postal Service in the Sparta office. He was a member of the Green Berets with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Larry was also a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, Illinois.
Larry is survived by his wife, Judy of Sparta; children: Eric (Renee) Rheinecker of Pinckneyville, Erika (John) Naas of Sparta and Tyson (Kari) Rheinecker of Columbia, IL; 7 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. He is also survived by a brother, Billy Rheinecker of Pinckneyville and a sister, Judy Oller of Belleville, IL.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James.
Larry wishes were for cremation. A Memorial Service for family and close friends will be at 1PM on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 11am to 1PM. Memorials may be given to the Wounded Warriors Project.
