Obituary

STEELEVILLE – Larry Dierks, 64, of Steeleville went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Larry was born on October 20, 1953, in Chester the son of Everett and Nedra (Westerman) Dierks. He was a graduate of John A. Logan Collage and he married Deborah Frazer, on December 29, 1973 at the New Palestine Methodist Church. Larry spent 3 decades working in the printing industry and most recently worked as an electrician for SCF Services, Sauget, Illinois. He worked hard for his family and was loved by many.

Larry is survived by his wife; Deborah Dierks, of Steeleville, 3 sons; Joseph (Amy) Dierks, of O'Fallon, Missouri, James Dierks, of Red Bud, and Cody Dierks, of Steeleville. He is also survived by 2 beloved grandsons; Andrew and Leland Dierks, 1 brother; Michael (Sue) Dierks, and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Mr. Dierks was preceded in death by his parents, and sister; Karen Deppe.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the New Palestine Methodist Church, in Chester, with Rev. Dr. Scott Foshie officiating, burial will follow in the New Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville where friends may call from 6 to 8 PM, and then on Saturday from 7:30 to 12 Noon and from 1 to 2 PM, at the church. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
