PINCKNEYVILLE - Larry E. Dewey, 79, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 7:21 am, Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. Larry was born in Dekalb County, IL on April 19, 1934, the son of Frank and Emma Cummings Dewey. He married June L. Hetherington Deppe on November 26, 2005 at Arcola, IL. He was a retired truck driver for Gilster Mary Lee Corp. Larry was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Percy and was an avid gun shooter and he enjoyed going to tractor pulls. Larry is survived by his wife, June Dewey of Pinckneyville, IL; by two sons and one daughter by a previous marriage; several grandchildren; one step son, his wife and children and grandchildren; and one sister, Doris (Wayne) Rissman of Shabbona, IL. Larry was preceded in death by his Parents and one step daughter. Memorial service will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jim Barnett officiating. Burial will be at Ava Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm. Memorials may be given to the Wesley United Methodist Church in Percy or the United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville.
