STEELEVILLE – L. Maxine Goetting, 89, of Steeleville, Illinois, passed away at 7:17 am, Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Cedarhurst of Sparta, Sparta, Illinois.

Maxine was born on April 4, 1931, in Percy, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Wilhelmina Huch Waltemate. She married Carl L. Goetting on February 17, 1951 in Steeleville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2003.  She was a retired Secretary and Homemaker.  Maxine was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville.  She loved golfing and bowling league.  Maxine was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan.

Maxine is survived by four sons, Mark (Susie) Goetting of Chester, IL, Todd (Cindy) Goetting of Sidney, IL, Jody (Deb) Goetting of Pinckneyville, IL, and Jay (Angela) Goetting of Rochester, MN; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Kenneth) Bockhorn of Steeleville; and sister-in-law, Wilma Waltemate of Steeleville.

Maxine was also preceded in death by her Parents; one daughter, Stacy; and brother, Vilas Waltemate.

Graveside service will be held at 1 pm, Monday, October 5, 2020, at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville, with Rev.
