SPARTA – Kim Marie Bixby Barber, 68, of Sparta, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL.

Kim was born in Red Bud, IL, on May 2, 1954, the daughter of Eugene and Margaret (Sternberg) Bixby.  She married Kevin Fudge on July 9, 1973, in Chester, IL, later she married Robert Barber on June 19, 1993, in Prairie Du Chien, WI. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2021. Kim retired from Spartan Printing, Sparta, IL, and was of the Lutheran Faith. She was a member of White Shrine State Chapter NSDA, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #411, Sparta, IL, Order of Eastern Star Chapter, Marissa, IL, and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Surviving are her children: James (Robin) Bixby of Ellis Gove, IL, Kristopher (Jennifer) Fudge of Riverview, FL; her grandchildren: Sabrina Bixby, Alexander Bixby, and Kevin Fudge II.

Kim is also preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 10:15 am, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, with Pastor Christy Smith officiating. The preferred form of remembrances are to the Shriner's Hospital or Randolph County Humane Society, c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Steeleville, IL, 62288.
