SPARTA – Kenneth L. Stuart, 84, of Sparta, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Marion, IL.

Ken was born in Miller City, IL, on April 12, 1938, the son of Claude and Greta (Billings) Stuart. He married Maida E. Lovell on May 6, 1967, in Lemay, MO. Ken was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Cuban Crisis. He was a retired carpenter, worked with Stuart Construction, and custodian with Trinity Presbyterian Church, Sparta, IL. Ken was a member of Potter's House Christian Center, Sparta, IL.

Surviving is his wife, Maida E. Stuart of Sparta, IL, his children: Mistee Ann Ray of Marion, IL, Travis Wade Stuart of Marion, IL, Kenneth Scot Stuart of Murphysboro, IL; his grandchildren: Alexis Turner, Taylor Mapps, Genasis Stuart, Sophia Stuart; his great grandchildren: Ann Marie Mapps, Madalyn Grace Mapps, and his sister, Marilyn Martin of  Tamms, IL.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Eleanor, and best friends, Dixie and Jim Prediger.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 11:00 to 2:00 pm, at Potter's House Christian Center, Sparta, IL.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at Potter's House Christian Center, Sparta, IL, with Rev.
