CARBONDALE, Kathleen Brandon Evans, 69, of Carbondale, passed away Thursday, June 03, 2010, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale in Carbondale, IL. She was born November 13, 1940 in New York, New York the daughter of Charles Carmer Ward and Ruth (Williams) Ward. Kathleen was married to William Isaac "Ike" Brandon, he preceded her in death. She was a retired teacher from John A. Logan College in Carterville. Kathleen was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Carbondale and was a member of the choir there. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Carbondale and a volunteer at Unity Point School. Kathleen was a member of the Carbondale Garden Club. Kathleen is survived by her children, Isaac "Brandy" (Jaye) Brandon of Phoenix, AZ, Suzanne (Doug) Smith of Owensboro, KY and Andrew Brandon of Carbondale; grandchildren, Nicholas & Emily Brandon and Brandon and Emma Smith and Kyrstan; her mother, Ruth Ward of Mesa, AZ; and one sister, Constance Ward of Avingdon, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her father and one son, John Abraham Brandon. Memorial services will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the Grace United Methodist Church, 220 N. Tower Rd., Carbondale, IL, with Brother Bob Sabo officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Monday at the Grace United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels in Carbondale, Alto Pass Library, Bell Choir at Grace United Methodist Church or Dr. Fossa Missions at Grace United Methodist Church.
