STEELEVILLE – K. Max Allton, 82, of Steeleville, passed away, Sunday, January 10, 2021.

Max was born May 25, 1938 in Zanesville, OH to Harold D. and Mary Thelma (Moore) Allton.  He married Louella Marie Loucks on August 18, 1970 in Joliet, IL.  Max served in the Army of the United States from 1961-1963 and was Honorably discharged on July 31, 1967. He worked at Kerr Glass, Plainfield, IL for over forty years. His hobbies were running, weightlifting, and bike riding.  Max lived mostly in Northern Illinois (Plainfield), but moved to Southern Illinois after retiring from Kerr Glass.  In his young years, he was raised by Grandma Laura (Ginnicks) Shaffer and Step Grandpa Guy Shaffer on their farm in Belle Valley, Ohio.  He loved the farm.

Max is survived by his wife, Louella M. Allton, Children; Lisa R. (Gary) Hintzsche of Queen Creek, AZ, and Michelle K. Wittenborn of Sparta, IL, Grandchildren; Tyler (Kristine) Hintzsche, Robb Hintzsche, Drake (Rebecca) Wittenborn, Kailee and Skylar Allton, Great Grandchildren; Henry Hintzsche, Dragan and Azula Wittenborn, Sisters-in-law; Helen (Carrol) Rinehart, Judy (Earl) Pulcher, Shirley (Marvin) Bell, and Half Sister, Penny Fetter.

Max was preceded in death by his Parents, a Stepmother, Ethel Allton, Son, Guy Blake Allton, one Brother, two Sisters, Mother and Father-in-law, nine Brothers and Sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL, with Reverend Tim McIntyre officiating.  Burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. A walk through at the Calvary Church, Sparta, IL, will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am.  Memorials may be given to family and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O.
