MURPHYSBORO - June Colleen Bense, 68, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:30 am on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin, IL. June was born on December 5, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Sterling A. and Anna Mae Chapman Barnes. She married Alan Bense, a very devowed and devoted husband on August 4, 2002 at Chester, IL. June was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post #7190 Auxiliary in Murphysboro, IL. June is survived by her husband, Alan Bense of Murphysboro; one daughter, Lennie Lodge of Percy and one step son, Aaron (Tina) Bense of Woodvine, GA; two grandchildren, Donald (Chrissy) Lindenberg of Steeleville and Kelsie (Jeremy Newton) Lindenberg of Percy; three step grandchildren, Cody, Sydney and Logan; and three great grandchildren, Chasten, Brendon and Gavin. June was preceded in death by her parents; one brothers; one sister; one son; and one daughter. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Stephen Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Percy Village Cemetery, Percy, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Sunday and on Monday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to the Randolph County Humane Society.
