Obituary

PERCY - Julie Helen Weithorn, 66 passed away at 10:15 p.m. February 22, 2016. Julie was born in DuQuoin, August 12th, 1949 to Bernie Weithorn, senior and Virginia Boquillon Weithorn. She is survived by her mother, brother, Bernie Jr. Weithorn (Judy) of Makanda, nephew Devin Clark (Monica) of Michigan. And two very special friends, Ron Coleman of Percy and Glenda Murray of Bloomington, IN and the Thanksgiving gang.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bernie Weithorn, Senior, uncle, Buddy Boquillon. Grandparents Emil and Irene Boquillon and Ed and Helen Weithorn.

Julie was a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College and earned her Masters in math from SIUC. At Iowa Wesleyan she was a member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity.

Julie retired in 2005 after teaching math for 35 years at Trico High School in Campbell Hill. For 32 years, she sold tickets at all Trico basketball and volleyball games. She catered and hosted the hospitality room for visiting coaches and referees during tournaments. She was also Yearbook sponsor for several years.

Julie was also a crafter doing needlepoint and making Christmas ornaments every year for all her friends. Her last craft has been to recycle greeting cards which the "lunch bunch" sent to their senior friends on holidays.

Julie was of the Christian faith. She was baptized in the Chester Methodist Church and later a member of the Sparta Methodist Church.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 26, 2016, at Wilson's Funeral Home in Percy with Rev. Wes Henson officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Percy, where friends may call from 5 pm until 7 pm Thursday and on Friday from 7:30 am until the hour of service.
