Obituary

SPARTA – Judy Ann Kinney, 77, of Sparta, was called to live eternally in her heavenly home on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

She was born April 18, 1946, to Alois and Norma Stines in Cutler, Illinois. Judy attended Trico School. She married Duane Kinney on July 4, 1963. Judy worked as a dress maker at Bridal Originals in Sparta, Illinois and also at Sparta Wal-Mart in the fabric department. Before her work as a dress maker and working at Wal-Mart, she spent many years as a  homemaker and raising her 5 children. She enjoyed making and decorating cakes for many years, crocheting, embroidering, sewing, canning, baking, and spending time with her large family. Judy was the longest living member of Faith Ministry Church.

Judy is survived by her children, Janet (Bunny) VanSant of Coulterville, IL, Susie (Neal) Johnson of Cutler, IL, Jimmy (Shannon) Kinney of Coulterville, IL, Linda Diercks of Coulterville, IL, and Mike Kinney of Coulterville, IL; her grandchildren, Jeff (Leslie) VanSant, Sandy (Tony) Piller, Roni (Robert) Frisch, Sherry (Lee) Faucett, Jamie (Scott) Mueller, Allen (Ashley) Johnson, Holly (Damian) Foster, Abby (Brian) Fortner, Tiffany Diercks (Brooks Collins), Richard (Jennifer) Daman, Ashlie (Alex) Malcom, and Aaron Kinney; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Jennifer (Murray) Smith and Janet Brandon; and sisters-in-law: Kathy Steins and Patricia Steins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her Parents, Alois and Norma Steins, her step mother, Gladys, siblings, John, Joann, Jaqueline, and James, son-in-law, Roger VanSant, grandson, Jonathan VanSant and several great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at Faith Ministry Church in Sparta, with Pastor Richard Reid, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta. Visitation will be at Faith Ministry Church on Wednesday from 9 am until 1 pm. Memorials may be given to the Ronald McDonald House and can be mail in c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
