CAMPBELL HILL – Judith A. Rodewald, 70, of Campbell Hill, passed away at 10:30 pm, Friday, March 5, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Chester, Illinois.

Judith was born in Murphysboro, Illinois, on March 25, 1950, the daughter of Homer and Gladys Junge Rathert.  Judith married Dennis D. Rodewald on May 23, 1970, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill.  She was a Homemaker.  Judith was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point, Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid/LWML and served on the zone board, and Ladies Auxiliary of Campbell Hill American Legion Post #1096.   Judy enjoyed the Christmas season most of all. She cheered for the Salukis basketball team and the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved to sing, especially at church. Flying kites and playing cards were regular activities, especially with Eva and Lydia around.  She loved a good book and a challenging puzzle.  Mostly, she was a generous donor of dozens of color bags, blankets, and knitted hats to hospitalized children. She decorated many cakes and loved to travel and golf. She is dearly missed.

Judy is survived by her husband, Dennis D. Rodewald of Campbell Hill; one son, Andrew (Maggie Sweeny) Rodewald of Towson, MD; two daughters, Rebecca (Kevin Marquart) Rodewald of Valles Mines, MO and Danielle (Steve) Theodorou of Ballwin, MO; Eric's Fiancee and daughter, Alison Hankins and Taylor Hankins of Cottleville, MO; two grandchildren, Eva and Lydia Theodorou; and brothers and sisters, Michael (Debra) Rathert of Ava, Patricia (Willard) Duensing of Danville, IL, Tom (Kathy) Rathert of Ava, Sidney (Deb) Rathert of Ava, and Timothy (Jill) Rathert of Hendersonville, TN.
