SPARTA – Judith Lavon Gale, 83, died peacefully on Sunday, January 21st, 2024, at Three Springs Lodge and Rehab in Chester, IL.

Judith was born on October 6, 1940, the daughter of Erman Lavoy and Mary Christine (Stillwaugh) Anderson. She married Elmer George Gale on November 14, 1964. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2023. Judith was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed crocheting and sitting on her front porch and watching the hummingbirds. Judith was a beautician for a few years before becoming a homemaker.

Judith is survived by her son, Bret (Kathy) Gale, her granddaughters: Alexandra (Matthew) Diercks, Bailey Gale (Fiancé Andew Bishop); her sister, Sue (Charles) Rapp, brothers and sisters in law: Louie (Ruth) Gale, Ted (Jane) Gale, Marilyn Smith, Clarence (Elaine) Becherer, Sherry Gale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Judith was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Douglas Wiltshire, brothers- in-law: Clyde Gale, Donald Gale, Lawerence Gale, David Gale, Albert Bergkoetter; sisters-in-law: Yvonne Bergkoetter and Beverly Gale.

Judith's wishes were for her body to be donated to Washington University with no services.
