SPARTA – Judith Wilson Bockhorn passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 19, 2023, at the age of 73. She was born on December 12, 1949, to Stanley and Julia (Kukarola) Wilson, in Sparta, Illinois. Judi was married to Douglas Bockhorn on June 12, 1970, at Our Lady of Lourdes, Sparta, IL. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Judi and Doug together raised two children, Angela Bockhorn (Num Pisutha-Arnond) and Derek Bockhorn. She adored and doted on her husband, her children, and especially her grandchildren. An ever-generous hostess, she took pleasure in cooking and baking for others. She also enjoyed sewing, playing piano, and caring for her loved ones. Judi lived in service to others, always putting herself last. She was a selfless caregiver to the very end and had a very special gift of making everyone feel loved.

A testament of her caregiving, she received her degree in Respiratory Therapy in 1989. She worked in healthcare at St. Clements's, St. Elizabeth's, and Chester Memorial Hospital until 2002, after which she helped Doug run the family business, Bockhorn Auto Salvage. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family, spoiling her grandsons and sharing her loving care as often as possible with everyone she encountered.

Judi was a member of and CYO teacher of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Sparta, IL, Volunteer Associate Adorers of the Blood of Christ in Ruma, IL, and tutor with the Monroe/Randolph Regional Office of Education GED Program for 8 years.

She is survived by her husband, Doug Bockhorn of Sparta, IL, her daughter, Angela Bockhorn (Num Pisutha-Arnond) of St. Louis, MO, her grandsons, Thai and Cole Pisutha-Arnond, six siblings: Robert Wilson, Donna Wilson (Bloom), Joe Wilson, Larry Wilson, Tom Wilson, and Mike Wilson.

Judi is preceded in death by her son, Derek Bockhorn, her parents, and sister, Pat Wilson (Smith).

Funeral Mass Service will be Tuesday, May 2, 2023, 11:00 am, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Sparta, IL, with Father Iuvenis Iheme officiating. A private family burial will follow. Per the family's wishes there will be no visitation and everyone is invited to join the dinner reception following mass.
