STEELEVILLE – Judith Ann "Judy" Wedemeyer, 73, of Steeleville, passed away at home at 3:10 pm, Sunday, May 10, 2020.
Judith was born in Red Bud, Illinois, on January 3, 1947, the daughter of the late Melvin and Viola Hornbostel Ohlau. She married Ray Wedemeyer on May 6, 1967, at Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville. Judith was a Cook at Trico High School for 27 years. She was a member of Peace Lutheran church, Steeleville and the American Legion B.B.K. Post #480 Auxiliary in Steeleville. Judy enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery and gardening. She also enjoyed being active with the American Legion Auxiliary, cooking and planning for events held at the Legion.
Judy is survived by her husband, Ray Wedemeyer of Steeleville; children, Troy (Glenda) Wedemeyer of Marion, Deanna (Ryan) Davis of West Frankfort, IL, and Kevin (Cristy) Wedemeyer of Coulterville, IL; 5 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; and one brother, Allan (Cathy) Ohlau of Coulterville.
Judy was preceded in death by her Parents; step father, Robert W. Koch and Brother, Thomas Wayne Ohlau.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, private graveside services will be held at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Steeleville, with Minister Deb Rathert officiating. A celebration of life for Judy will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church "We Care Program" or Phil's Friends, a cancer support group. Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville is in charge arrangements.
