STEELEVILLE – Juanita M. Speece, 79, of Steeleville, Illinois passed away at 9:15 am, Monday, August 24, 2020 at her home in Steeleville, Illinois.
Juanita was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 12, 1941, the daughter of Shelton and Alberta (Davis) Carlyle. She was married on August 19, 1961 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Walter E. "Red" Speece. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2006. Juanita was retired from Gilster Mary Lee in Steeleville, Illinois. She was of the Baptist faith.
Juanita is survived by her children; son, Michael Speece of Steeleville, Illinois and daughter, Lorrie Hesse of Baldwin, Illinois. Two brothers, John Carlyle of Texas, Richard Carlyle of Coulterville, Illinois, two sisters, Mary Poole of Murphysboro, Illinois and Wanda Brunkhorst of Sparta, Illinois. Six grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Juantia was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Due to COVID19, Phase 4 guidelines will be in effect, using social distancing and facemasks. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020, at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, Illinois, with Reverend Phillip Easton officiating. Burial will follow. The preferred form of remembrance are memorials to the Randolph County Humane Society.
