Murphysboro, Illinois – Joyce Weston, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 12, 2025. She was born on June 17, 1938, to Estel and Marie Overall. She shared an especially deep bond with her twin sister, Janice Mathews, who preceded her in death, along with her sister Peggy Harbin and brother Jackie Overall.

Joyce married Carl Weston and together they built a life filled with faith and family. She was a devoted mother to Mark (Rebecca) Weston, Peggy (Eddie) Alvarado, and H. Paul (Robin) Einwich. She wasn't just Mom, she was "Nanny". Being "Nanny" to her 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren was one of her greatest blessings. She was a proud grandmother to Angie (Craig) Warnement, Nikki (Jared) Merringer, Ashley (Nehemiah) Davie, Mark Jr. (Krista) Weston, Amber Johnson, Alexandria (Jamison) McConnell, Chantel (Justin) Gomez, Destiney (Robert) Judge, Lu Crista, H. Paul III, and great- grandmother to Noah (Lexie), Allison, Jhay, Gabriella, Adrianna, Kaylin, Clarke, James, Ace, James, Miles, Ty, Skye, Jade, Aiden, Oliver and Maddison ; and great-great-grandmother to Acelynn. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close and her dearest friend Michelle McConkey.

Joyce had a spicy personality that made her unforgettable — equal parts wit, charm, and sass. She found joy in life's simple moments shared with loved ones and her adored pets. She will be remembered for her compassion, her strength, and the way she loved without limits. To know Joyce was to know grace, generosity, and love that will never fade. She also spent many years working at MB Graphics; her dedication and personality left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers. She wore her Office Manager title proud but mostly she loved working closely with her boy, Mark, their time together will be deeply cherished. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, 206 South Fifth Street, Ava, IL. 62907 on October 18, 2025, at 11am until service at 1pm with burial to follow at Birkner Cemetery in Ava, IL.
