COULTERVILLE – Joseph P. Specogni, 72, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at his home in Coulterville, Illinois.

Joseph was born on July 13, 1951, in Bamberg, Germany, the Joseph and Elizabeth (Strohmenger) Specogni. He married Dauna Jiles and she preceded him in death. Joseph was a retired coal miner, having worked at the Old Ben Coal, Peabody Coal, and Ziegler Coal Mines.

He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Motorsports fan. Joseph loved his grandchildren very much, they were his pride and joy.

Joseph is survived by his children: James (Marcy) Specogni of Coulterville, IL, Meagan Sloan of Sparta, IL; his grandchildren: Taria, Olivia, and Sophia Sloan, Aubree, Peyton, and Meadow Specogni, Joseph and Wrigley Specogni; and his half-sister, JoAnn Specogni Glancy of North Carolina.

Joseph was also preceded in death by his parents and a son, Joseph Specogni.

Joseph's wishes were for cremation and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Swanwick Cemetery Association and can be mailed in c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
