SPARTA – Joseph D. "Joe" Rickenberg, 49, of Sparta passed away at 6:10 AM, Sunday, June 7, 2020 at the Randolph County Care Center, in Sparta.

Joseph was born on October 25, 1970, in Red Bud, the son of Everett O. and Bernice L (Gassel) Rickenberg. Joe worked as a custodian at the Randolph County Care Center in Sparta.

Joe is survived by a brother; Bernard John Rickenberg, of Percy, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mr. Rickenberg was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother; Everett Rickenberg, Jr.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic private graveside services will be held at the Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville with the Re. Dr. Dennis Hamilton officiating. Memorials may be made to the Family and mailed to the Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, Illinois 62288.
