Obituary

MURPHYSBORO - Joseph Lyndall Reiman, 63, of Murphysboro Illinois pass away at home surrounded by his family on August 13 th , 2021.

Joe was born on the 13th of May in 1958 in Murphysboro, IL, to Ross L. and Shirley (Adams) Reiman, where he grew up on his family farm and graduated from MHS in 1976.  Joe then won a two-year Mechanic's scholarship at SIUC and graduated in 1978.  He then attended and graduated from Hester's Mechanic School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1984.  Joe worked at many garages throughout Southern Illinois before joining the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 268 in 1993 out of Caseyville, IL.  Joe was an avid fisherman and hunter but was a natural born mechanic.  So much so, he asked his grandmother Adams to buy him a toolbox for Christmas when he was three years old, which he continued to fill with tools throughout his lifetime.  Joe loved to talk motors and tractors but his true passion was tractor restoration.

Joe married Regina Cross on February 14, 1984 in Murphysboro IL whom survives him.  Other survivors include, one daughter Michele (Jesse) Mifflin of Sand Ridge IL; two sons, Joseph (Cayla) Reiman of Vergennes, IL and Richard Reiman of Murphysboro, IL; mother, Shirley Reiman of Murphysboro, IL; two brothers, Ross T. (Debra) Reiman of Pocahontas, IL, and Philip L. (Barbara) Reiman of Highland, IL; ten grandchildren, Karolynn Mifflin, Taylor Mifflin, Noah Mifflin, Luke Mifflin, Eli Mifflin, and Jessica Mifflin all of Sand Ridge, IL, Ginny Reiman, Joseph P. Reiman, Ryan Reiman, and Haylee Reiman all of Vergennes, IL; his Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allen and Wilma (Popejoy) Cross of Ava, IL; brothers-in-law, Mike Cross, Roger Cross, Larry (Kim) Cross, and Gary Cross all of Ava, IL; and sisters-in-law, Ruth (Joe) Smith, Susan (Roy) Wanless, and JoAnn Hunter all of Ava, IL.  Joe is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of many good friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his father Ross L Reiman; his grandparents Julius and Rosa (Imhoff) Reiman; Thomas and Wilma (Morrison) Adams; his uncles Robert Reiman, Joseph Adams, Samuel Thompson, Howard Pinkerton, and Ray Hale; his aunts Carrie Thompson, Jessie Reiman, and Helen Hale; and one brother-in-law, John Scott Hunter.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Pastor Ron Kreid officiating.  Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends call from 6 pm until 8 pm Monday and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until 11 am.  Memorials may be given to Ava Evergreen Cemetery.
