MURPHYSBORO, Joseph T Colombo, 85, of Murphysboro, passed away at 4:45 P.M. Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Oak Grove Rehab & Care Center in Carbondale, IL. Joseph was born May 13, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Dominick Colombo and Theresa (Ranizo) Colombo. Joseph married Verna M. Cochran on July 21, 1969 in Granite City, IL. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a retired cloth cutter. Joseph was a member of the Moose Lodge #1591, Murphysboro and the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127, Murphysboro. Joseph is survived by his wife Verna M. Colombo of Murphsyboro; children, Harry (Cindy) Stevens of Lee Summit, MO and Linda Reynolds of Murphysboro; grandchildren, Lura Oakley (Brandon Frederick), Lane (Lisa) Reynolds, and Callie Zevecki; and great grandchildren, Megan Holmes, Shane and Tanner Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his Parents; and sister and brother-in-law: Mary & Charles Serra. Due to Mr. Colombo's wishes, cremation will take place and there will not be any services. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava.
