STEELEVILLE - Johnnie L. McCann, 62, of Steeleville, passed away at 2:15 pm, Monday, August 27, 2012 at his home in Steeleville. Johnnie was born in Warrenton, MO on June 4, 1950, the son of James H. and Zelda McClure McCann. Johnnie was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a retired auto mechanic. Johnnie is survived by his children, Jessica McCann of Ava, Julie Williams of Tilden, IL and Justin McCann of Steeleville; two grandchildren, Blaise Mathis and Talan Williams; mother, Zelda McCann of Ava; two brothers, James McCann of Freeburg, IL and Tracy McCann of South Carolina; and three sisters, Shirley Anheiser of DuQuoin, IL, Sadie Brooks of Ava, and Linda Bukovac of Sorento, IL. Johnnie was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Larry McCann and Roger McCann. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Blu Berner officiating. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 pm to 7 pm Wednesday. Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
