AVA – John F. Wilson, Jr., 89, of Ava, passed away at 1:31 pm, Friday, December 10, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

John, Jr. was born in Shannon County, Missouri, on April 18, 1932, the son of John F. and Bertha L. Dillard Wilson.  He married Shirley Jones on May 2, 1959 in Ava.  He was a Veteran of the US Army.  John, Jr. was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.

John, Jr. is survived by his wife, Shirley Wilson; daughters, Ronda Wilson (Rod), Paula Wilson, and Nikki (Rip) Tomlinson; and grandson, Ripley Tomlinson.

John was preceded in death by his Parents; two brothers, Eugene Wilson and Bill D. Wilson; and three sisters, June Bahr, Lucille Airsman, and Pauline Wilson.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 2:00 pm, at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.  Burial will follow.  Those attending, are asked to meet at the cemetery.  To sign the guestbook visit www.wilsonsfuneralhome.net .
