WILLISVILLE – John Victor Throop, 85, of Willisville, passed away at 10:25 pm, Friday, October 18, 2019 at Three Springs in Chester, Illinois.

John was born in Ava, Illinois, on May 9, 1934, the son of the late Jess and Mary Brown Throop.  He married Ruth Easton on February 14, 1958 in Murphysboro.  She preceded him in death on January 22, 2017.

John is survived by three children, Meta (Ed) Creech of Willisville, Victor Throop of Jacksonville, FL, and Jason (Carolyn) Throop of West Point, MS; 10 grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Kilpatrick Congiardo, Jeffrey Kilpatrick, Matthew Throop, Zane Ward, Felicia Finley, Abe Finley, Elizabeth Creech, Jennifer Creech, Rachael Williams and Brad Creech; 15 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Lester Throop of Freeburg, IL and Albert Throop of Tennessee.

John was also preceded in death by his Parents; one daughter, Kathryn Gilbert; two brothers, George and Raymond Throop; and one sister, LaWanda Cross.

It was John's wishes to be cremated and no services will be held.  Burial will be at Tangen Cemetery, Campbell Hill.
