MURPHYSBORO – John Lowell Stroub, 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at his home in Murphysboro, Illinois.

John was born on May 22, 1957, in Marion, IL, the son of Billy and LaCeena (Kerwin) Stroub. He married Paula J. Buck on January 30, 1988, in Cutler, IL. John was a retired Coal Miner. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church, Murphysboro, IL, Moose Lodge, Chester, IL, and was an avid APA Pool player.

John is survived by his wife, Paula Stroub of Murphysboro, IL, his children: April (Matt) Major of Willisville, IL, John S. (Sarah) Stroub of Murphysboro, IL; his grandchildren: Mykol Major, Makayla (Alec) Brand, Mariah Becker Major, Alexis Stroub, Wyatt Stroub; his great grandchildren: Oaklyn, Mavrick, Lane, and one on the way, Beau; his stepson, William J. (Gwen) Woolsey of Chester, IL, his 4 step grandchildren, his siblings: Larry Stroub of West Virginia, Billy Stroub of Steeleville, IL, and Joanna Stroub of West Virginia.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Debra Stroub.
