STEELEVILLE, John F. A. Kober, 94, of Steeleville, passed away at 4:05 PM Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Memorial Hospital of Chester in Chester, Illinois. He was born August 9, 1918 in Conklin, Michigan the son of John Frederick August and Louise (Schamber) Kober. John married Eunice M. Buenger on June 8, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Chester, IL. John was a retired Director of Member Services for Egyptian Electric of Steeleville, Illinois. He was also a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville. He is survived by his wife: Eunice M. Kober, Steeleville, IL; 4 Children: Kenneth (Donna) Kober, Collinsville, IL;Judith Mevert, Steeleville, IL; Donna (Robert) Niedringhaus, Manchester, MO; Michael (Susan) Kober, Collinsville, IL; 13 Grandchildren: Jennifer Roth, Aaron Kober, Amanda Koenig, David Kober, Matthew Mevert, Melinda Rabe, Michelle Gremmels, Lisa Knox, Emily Hunt, Anthony Kober, Daniel Kober, Philip Kober, and Robert White. John is also survived by 17 Great Grandchildren and a host of Nieces and Nephews. John is preceded in death by his parents 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Steeleville, Illinois with the Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Chester, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville where friends may call from 5 to 8pm on Friday and on Saturday from 7:30 to 9am, then from 10 to 11am at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's School.
