AVA – Joe Floyd Holder, Jr., 65, of Ava, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at home in Ava.

Joe was born in Herrin, Illinois, the son of Joe Floyd Holder and Patricia Aline Lantrip.  He was a retired Roofer.  Joe was an Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam Conflict.

Joe is survived by his children, Philena (Brad) Hope of Virginia, Michelle (Chris Compton) Allen of Ava, Danielle (Jon) Kluge of Johnston City, IL, and David Holder of Murphysboro; grandchildren, Nicole (Micah) Thomas, Samantha Allen, Jacob and Zachary Young, Phoenix Hope, Dalton and Bailey Holder, Abreonna Holder, Haley Nicks, and Chastity Charlet; several great grandchildren; and siblings, Roger (Connie) Logeman, Debbie (Bruce) Staton, Ron (Cathy) Holder, Jimmy Gibbens, Sandy Hood, and Mary Holder.

Joe was preceded in death by his Parents; Grandparents; one son, Christopher Holder; and one grandson, Brent Compton.

Phase 4 Guidelines will be in effect, which allows 50 attendees at one time, using social distancing guideline and facemasks.  Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at the Ava Evergreen Cemetery with Minister Deb Rathert officiating.  Burial will follow. Memorials may be made to the Family.
