Obituary

CAMPBELL HILL – Jewell Madgeline Rubach, 94, of Campbell Hill passed away at 8:19 AM, Friday, October 26, 2018 at her home.

Jewell was born on July 9, 1924, in Obion County, Tennessee, the daughter of James Allen and Mildred D. (Cross) Rogers. She married Homer H. Rubach, on April 17, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, and they shared 64 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on January 10, 2012. Mrs. Rubach was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, life member of the Kaskaskia VFW Auxiliary Post #3553, Chester, and the BBK American Legion Auxiliary Post #480, Steeleville.

Jewell is survived by 1 son; Phillip (Judy) Rubach, of Union, Missouri, 2 daughters; Sheila (George) Talley, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, Emma (Don) Ritter, of Steeleville, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rubach was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers; James Cletus Rogers, Lowell H. Rogers, and 2 sisters; Estella Everett, and Thelma Christine Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, with Rev. William F. Engfehr, III, officiating, burial will follow at the Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville where friends may call from 5 to 8 PM with a VFW Auxiliary service being held at 8 PM, and then on Wednesday from 7:30 to 11 AM, and from 12 Noon to 1 PM, at the church. Memorials may be made to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
