IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerry Dean
Crum
August 11, 1960 – September 28, 2024
MARION – Jerry D. Crum, 64, of Marion, IL, formerly of Cutler, IL, left this earthly world on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 4:49 pm, at his home surrounded by those he loved.
Jerry was born on August 11, 1960, in Red Lake Falls, MN, the son of Harold D. and Mae Darlene (Lazzott) Crum. He was welcomed by sisters Cindy and Connie and would later become a big brother to Randy and Darrell.
Jerry started his career early as an Ironworker and would advance in life to become an Industrial Construction Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager, which took him all over the world. He was very hardworking, determined and goal oriented. Jerry lived his life with compassion, kindness, and had a heart that loved deeply and completely. His quiet strength and strong heart will be profoundly missed. Jerry loved Jesus, his children, grandchildren, and his country. He was a man of quiet determination, selflessness, and a strong desire to anonymously help others.
Jerry proudly became a father to Heath Thomas in 1988, Kristin Nicole in 1989, and Travis Harold in 1994. His children were his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Jerry loved giving gifts to his kids, Christmas was his favorite time year. He loved Christmas shopping and wrapping presents to put under the Christmas tree, to see the smiles and laughter of his children on Christmas morning. Jerry loved giving surprises and bringing joy to others.
Jerry was the proudest Paw Paw to seven beautiful grandbabies: Skyler Thomas, Abigail Ranee, Lillyauna Dean, Tinsley Ann, Aleina Darlene, Chancelyr June, and Wells Ryver Dean. Until the very end they brought joy and smiles to Paw Paw Jerry, sharing snacks, laughter and treats together.
As Jerry loved so deeply and completely, he was loved just as deeply and completely by his family and friends. His strength, powerful presence and commitment to family serve as the guide for his legacy and the heritage he has left for future generations.
"One last breath and it turns to memories".
Jerry is survived by his three children: Heath Thomas (Coleen) Crum, Kristin Nicole (Ian) and Travis Harold Crum, seven grandchildren, two sisters: Connie (Mark) Mahnken, Cindy (David) McDonald; two brothers: Randy (Sundi) Crum, Darrell (Teri) Crum; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Darlene Crum, and a brother, Joseph M. Crum.
