CUTLER – Jerry E. Briley, 78, of Cutler, passed away at 12:48 pm, Friday, October 22, 2021, at DuQuoin Nursing and Rehab Center, DuQuoin, Illinois.

Jerry was born in Boone Terre, Missouri, on April 28, 1943, the son of Henry and Della LaBrot Briley.  He married Patsy Smith at Bunkurn Baptist Church, Washington Park, Illinois, on July 3, 1963.  Jerry was retired from Hunter Packing in East St. Louis, and he worked for Gilster Mary Lee, Inc., Steelevillle.  He was of the Protestant Faith.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patsy Briley of Cutler; daughter, Sherry (Troy) Coleman of Cutler; son, Mark Briley of Cutler; granddaughter, Hollie Coleman; two brothers; and one sister.

Jerry was preceded in death by his Parents; and two sisters, Lee Ann Woller and Judy Sanders.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 1:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Rev. Don Quillman officiating.  Burial will follow at Cutler Cemetery, Cutler, Illinois.  Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm Tuesday.  Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Hospital.  To sign the guestbook visit www.wilsonsfuneralhome.net .  Due to executive orders, current COVID guidelines will be followed.
