STEELEVILLE – Jeff A. Rushing, 57, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, Illinois.

Jeff was born on February 19, 1967, in Pinckneyville, IL, the son of Maurice and Leola (Ritter) Rushing. He married Angela Falkenhain on October 1, 1994, at Steeleville Baptist Church, Steeleville, IL. Jeff held several positions at Zander's Sporting Goods, Sparta, IL and was a member of Steeleville Baptist Church, Steeleville, IL.

Jeff enjoys fishing on his bass boat, bow hunting turkey and deer, squirrel hunting, being a precision firearm shooter, hiking in the woods, bike riding in Florida, gardening, even mowing the grass, being with friends, but most of all, watching Eli grow into the man his is becoming.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Angela Rushing of Steeleville, IL, his son, Eli Rushing of Steeleville, IL, his sister, Lana (Ron) Mayer of Springfield, MO, his niece, Rachel (Tiglet) Besara, his nephew, Jairus (Natalia) Mayer, and several great nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:30 am, at Steeleville Baptist Church, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Jared Pemper officiating. Burial to follow at Mt. Summit Cemetery, Rockwood, IL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Steeleville Baptist Church, where friends may call from 9:30 – 11:30 am.
