COULTERVILLE – Jean A. Spreitler, 89, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, Illinois.

Jean was born on November 29, 1935, in Marion, IL, the daughter of Oliver and Mabel (Antnip) Stubblefield. She married James Spreitler on February 14, 1973, at Cutler, IL. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2009. Jean attended Calvary Church in Sparta, IL.

Jean is survived by her children: Linda Brunell of Afton, MO, Debra Ann (Kenneth) Kempfer of Coulterville, IL, Dewayne Kelley of Hurst, IL; her step daughters: Tammy (Doug) Carter of Texas, Bridget Spreitler of Coulterville, IL; her grandchildren: Jeremy (Melissa) Kempfer, Justin Kempfer, Joseph Kempfer, Autumn Hornbostel, Melyssa (Suparsh) Parika; her step grandchildren: John (Kayla) Davis, Ricky Haynes, Rebecca, Jeff Emery; several great grandchildren; and her beloved pet bird, Sunshine.

Jean was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Patricia Bradshaw, a stepdaughter, Janie Spreitler, and a brother, Vernon Stubblefield.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, 2024, 11:00 am, at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL, with Rev. Tim McIntyre officiating. Burial to follow at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL. Visitation will be held on Monday, where friends may call from 9:00 am until time of service at the church.
