MURPHYSBORO – Jaunita Mae Kimmel, 65, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at her home in Murphysboro, IL.

Jaunita was born on January 27, 1959, in Pinckneyville, IL, the daughter of Gailord and Theresa (Goss) Asbury. She married Wayne Kimmel on October 28, 2000, in Murphysboro, IL. Jaunita was a Cook at Pat's BBQ, Murphysboro, IL. She was a member of Paul Stout American Legion Post #127 Auxiliary, Murphysboro, IL and the VFW, Murphysboro, IL.

Jaunita is survived by her husband Wayne Kimmel of Murphysboro, IL, her stepchildren: Kory (Crystal) Kimmel of Elkville, IL, Devan (Trent) Hines of Murphysboro, IL; her grandchildren: Kennedy, Kobyn, Kantyn Kimmel, Brynlee, Westyn, Brayla Hines; her siblings: Madeline Williamson Murphysboro, IL, Lee (Chris) Chancey of Murphysboro, IL; and numerous friends and relatives.

Jaunita was preceded in death by her parents, a stepson, Travis Kimmel, a sister, Dana Neighbors, and a brother, Donald Asbury.

Jaunita's wishes were for cremation with a Memorial to be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Paul Stout American Legion Post #127, Murphysboro, IL, from 11:30 – 3:00 pm. Memorials may be given to St. Francis Animal Hospital and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Ava, IL 62907.
