Smith, Jason K., of St. Charles, Missouri, formally of Steeleville, IL died on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the age of 44. Loving husband of 18 years to Jennifer Ann Nisbet-Smith; son of James and Jeannette Smith; brother of James M. (Joli) Smith and Jeanna (Brett) Faulk; brother-in-law of Lisa (Matt) Badgley; grandson of Opal Kraus; son-in-law of Tom and Shirley Nisbet; uncle of Colin Smith, Kyle Smith, Cale Faulk, Evan Faulk, and Ty Badgley. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Walter and Emma Smith, maternal grandfather Reinhard "Bud" Kraus, grandparents-in-law Keith and Virginia Nisbet and Art and Gertude Volkman. Jason was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL where he was confirmed on March 27, 1983. Jason was a talented artist and musician, a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call Thursday from 5 pm to 8 pm and on Friday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church from 9 am until 10 am. Visitation will also be held at Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles, Missouri on Wednesday from 5 pm until 7 pm. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
