Obituary
MURPHYSBORO – Jarvis R. Zimmerman, 54, of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away at 10:00 pm, Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Kinder Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Jarvis was born in Carbondale on May 27, 1962, the son of Charles Jean and Dorothy Wright Zimmerman. He worked at a motel until becoming disabled. Jarvis attended the Ava Presbyterian Church and was a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop #114.
Jarvis is survived by his mother, Dorothy Zimmerman of St. Charles, MO; two nieces, April S. Giulvevan and Dawn Hill; two nephews, Richard Hill and Shaun Zimmerman; two great nieces; four great nephews; one great great niece; and two great great nephews.
Jarvis was preceded in death by his Father; one brother, Burse Timothy Zimmerman; and two sisters, Jill Regina Zimmerman and Shelly Babbette Hill.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Curt Rabe officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm Saturday and on Sunday from 8 am until 2 pm. Memorials may be given to Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation.
