ROCKWOOD - Janet Schroeder, 79, of Rockwood, passed away peacefully at 11:15 am, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

Janet was born August 1, 1944, in Prairie Du Rocher, Illinois, to Emil and Marguerite Allard Siegfried. Janet married Roland Brant on August 31, 1968 in Red Bud, Illinois, he preceded her in death. She then married John Schroeder on November 20, 1991 in Wickliffe, Kentucky. She was a retired LPN from Three Springs Lodge in Chester, Illinois. Janet was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Raddle, Illinois and the St. Ann's Altar Sodality.

Janet is survived by her husband, John Schroeder; two sons, Jonathon (Kathy) Brant of Jacksonville, FL and Mark Brant of Collinsville, IL; three step sons, Mike (Pam) Schroeder of Chester, Larry Schroeder of Ava, and Tom (Carrie) Schroeder of Carbondale, IL; grandson, Kyle (Cameron) Brant of Pensacola, FL; several step grandchildren; one sister, Kay (Jack) Bivens of Sparta, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Janet was also preceded in death by her Parents; one brother; and three sisters.

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 10:00 am, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Raddle, with Father Joel Seipp officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call on Monday from 6 pm until 8 pm. Rosary will be recited at 8 pm.
